IGNIS FOREST This part of the birch forest was ravaged by fire a few years back, leaving the trees as lifeless white husks. The undergrowth has recently started to return, so smaller prey is more common here.

• SAMAEL | LONER •
Through the dark hazziness of the almost-dead forest, Samael skulked. Not too long ago, the brute had crossed the lands and had entered the forest - although he personally wasn't sure if such a place was allowed that name. Sure, it had its fair share of trees, but the life that many others had were lacking here. Even though the wolf could see the faint signs of new life sprouting within the undergrowth and hear the noisy squeaks of scurrying small rodents, that did not rid the thick scent of ash - and death - which lingered in the air. Not for awhile anyway. But alas, Samael did not mind the lifelessness of his surroundings; it was quite enjoyable and interesting. What he didn't like was how exposed he was. Surely, if some other creature were to wander, he would have no problem seeing the white pelt of Samael, which stood out like a beam of light despite his efforts of rolling around in the dry soil. And as a result he made sure to keep his eyes - well eye - and ears alert.

KINEK
Random grey splotches and markings covered Kinek's milky pelt, merely from rubbing against the burnt to a crisps tree trunks. The trees that sheltered so many with their spreading canopy of green and provided so much are now lifeless sticks of charcoal, though the youngster didn't mind. In fact, she enjoyed the ominous feel the charred forest gave off, it was almost like a sanctuary for her. The fire took what was alive and sacred to the pack and cast it as confetti into the sky, first glowing red before cooling to black and drifting back down to the earth. After studying and observing the fried trees, Kinek's orbs fell back down to the path in front of her as soon as she stumbled over a branch. Landing in a pile of dust, the particles escaped from her small mass. With a grunt, she glanced up and saw another figure just a few yards ahead of her. With the scaring aside, their pelt matched Kinek's natural color. For now, she was masked with leftover mess and debris from the past fire. "Woah!" she shouted as she bounded towards the towering lad, "what happened there?" she gestured towards his notched ear, ignoring the fact that the stranger was intruding. Samael

• SAMAEL | LONER
The large white wolf continued his walk at a leisurely pace, his neck lowered somewhat. From what he could see, smell, and hear, there didn't seem to be any other potential enemies around him. But then again, that didn't promise anything. Samael prided himself for his more than keen senses, being to hear and smell things most wouldnt be able to normallt pick up on, but in such a place as this even he was rendered useless. Thus, he had to rely on his eyesighr, which was already crappy enough by default. "What a nuisance..." His low, deep voice spilled out of his slightly parted jaws in the form of a growl. Samael had no destination in mind, frankly. He merely spent his day going to wherever his paws could take him. The life of solitude was definitely something Samael didn't mind (he quite enjoyed the lack of noise) but it wasn't something he craved. What he truly craved for was the pack life, which took hierarchy quite seriously. And he loved that. Never once has Samael been apart of a pack officially, but that didn't mean he was ignorant about it. Before the "tragic" end of his parenrs, they often told him stories of their own pack life, albeit with great hesitation. Samael had been quite annoyed that neither of themhad achieved much in their short lives. The most they did was take down a large elk by themselves, but that wasn't exactly something to boast about. In fact, Samael was able to do that ith ease - and plenty of patience. Those stories his parents were proud of often left his fur hot with rage and embarrassment. He resented how pathetic they were; did they not have any sort of ambition? To have no desire to become something more left Samael reeling with bitter confusion. Reliving through his memories and thoughts always left Samael in a sour mood and this time was no exception. But, to his great relief, the loud sound of wood shattering ripped through his trance. To him, it sounded to be a little ways away ahead of him. Instinctively, the large male pressed his knicked ears flat against his skull while releasing a low growl. He was not surprised bt the idea of some other finding him. Any time Samael wandered into a foreign land, there must always be some sort of interruption and today was no exception. But what made him surprised was that, instead of a full-grown individual stopping him, a pathetic ball of fur with four legs greeted him with a look of awe plastered on its young face. He was stunned for only a few seconds but he knew better than to let that control him. Quickly he regained his posture, widened his stance to balance his weight, and lowered his head to the same level as the pup's face. Thanks to his dead eye, Samael had to turn his head a bit in order to properly see who stopped him. It was in fact a pup, but Samael couldnt help but wonder why something like this would be in a place such as this. Samael allowed the question of the curious youngin' to hang in the air, for both a dramatic effect and so he could arrange his thoughts. "I had gotten into a little scuffle," the large male replied shortly, voice rough from the lack of use. Normally, Samael hated it when others inquired about his battle scars; it brought back memories of pain he refused to relive. And often he made sure to shut their traps completely but even Samael had his limits - no way would he inflict harm on a pup, especially one that's at the stage of curiosity. But Samael did not wish to converse. To show that he had little interest, the white wolf straightened himself a bit and stepped around the young one with the intention of continuing his walk without more interruptions.

KINEK
Kinek's brows furrowed as the male briefly described what had happened to his ear and then he attempted to continue on his way, she merely just thought the guy was cool looking, scars and all. "Dude wait!" she shouted as she bounded after him, careful not to trip on the same branch again. "Your eye is cool too," she stated, perhaps that would get him to wait up. Finally reaching the lad's side, she began to walk next to him glancing up every so often. "My name is Kinek," she smiled rather widely, she was clearly not phased what-so-ever about the rough looking loner. "Some pack members think I'm 'a little psychotic pup' merely because they found me playing with a cotton-tail. Which led to me eventually tearing its silky ears right off its head. In all honesty, I don't understand what the problem was," she shortened the story greatly, she just wanted to try to impress the stranger, perhaps it would get him to speak more and tell his own tales.

Samael truly did not expect the wandering pup to leave him alone, and he was correct. The white wolf's nostrils flared slightly and he allowed a snort to escape. The female pup had brushed off his curt reply and had bounded forward, only to fall into stride along side with him. And even though he was positive that he wanted some peace and quiet, he did not deapise the other's presence. When the pup ignorantly commented on his blind eye, he felt a quick rush of anger flood through his system, flushing out the idea that he enjoyed her company. But, used to this, Samael remained composed and his expression stayed flat. "To others it may appear to be 'cool', but to me it is just a pain in the rear," Samael replied bitterly, flicking his long appendage as it dragged along the ground. He had no intention of sharing his own personal experiences with this pup, and Samael found himself pleased when she had decided to share a tale of her own instesd of continuing the interrogation. Of course, Samael expected something like chasing bugs and fall over roots, but the pup had surprised him with quite the morbid story. It was not really common amongst young wolves to simply "rip off the ears" of a rabbit when "playing" but Samael wasn't fazed. In fact, he couldnt help but allow a slight bark of laughter to escape when she mentioned how her comrades thought of her. It was foolish, to say the least. Were pack wolves so soft? "I see no issue, either. If anything, it will still end up as a meal for our kind. It will still be ripped to shreds when feasted upon. For them to react like that is remarkably unrealistic." Samael couldn't help but throw in a slight jab at her comrades at the end. Samael then realized that she was hoping to get a story out of him afterall. The thought amused Samael. Did she really think that once you do something you will get another something in return? Normally, life was not like thst, but he decided he will humor the pup for now. Besides, it wasn't as if he had to share an interesting story. "When I was your age," he started slowly, narrowing his eyes onto the path before them, "I spent my days in solitude, as I do now. I found it to be quite enjoyable and at the time there was a river that was near the densite. I often wasted away the day there. Unfortunately, however, I had decided to test my skills by attempting to jump along the jutting stones in the river. I lacked ability at the time and as a result i slipped and crashed into the waters, and a sharp rock had sliced through my ear." He paused for a dramstic effect, as if he was going to continue and add more suspense, but he simply ended it with a "The end." And left it that.

KINEK
"That was my exact response!" she chirped, "they were all like, 'You know, you should respect your prey. They’re giving their life so that you may eat and live, so the least you can do is give them a swift death with as little pain as possible,' blah blah blah. In which I responded with, 'They don't give their lives, we have to take them. Might as well make it fun.' And let me tell you, that did not wash over so well," she finally ended her story. "I just thought the color was cool," she murmured as a mental note was taken that the lad was a bit sour. "I just have these dung colored eyes. See!" she groaned, widened her eyes, and made a dumb face, sticking out her tongue and all.
She shut her trap as the stranger started his tale, "you can still hear out of it yeah? If so, I introduced myself and I think the least you can do is spill your name as well, or I can just keep calling you 'dude' and 'guy'," she grunted as her orbs swept over the burnt trees, a few squirrels scurrying up their gnarly trunks.

Samael flicked his ears at the request for his name, taking note of her word choice and tone. Normally, Samael would growl and demand something more polite but the male had a feeling that she was simply just that kind of wolf, and most of the time pups had no filter. So, Samael allowed it to pass him by without a second thought. As for telling her his name, he hesitated. It was true she had introduced herself as "Kinek" but in all honesty, that was off of her own accord. Samael did notwish to share his name... but then again, was that not what he craved? To be known? "My name, Kinek, is Samael." He decided to share. And now it was his turn to ask a question: "What is a pup doing this far from home, speaking to a strange wolf nonetheless." Samael was truly curious. A normal pup would be cautious around those outside of their home, but Kinek seemed to be quite the free spirit, with confidence oozing out. Or perhaps it was ignorance. Samael wasn't too sure, but he guessed it was both.

KINEK
With anticipation dripping from her eyes, Kinek stared up at the towering lad, nodding with approval as he exchanged his name. Kinek's gaze then averted to her feet, lost in the rhythmic steps, though still aware of the lad speaking. "Well, Sammy," she paused, throwing a glance up to be sure he was listening, "I don't know to be completely honest with you. I like this charred woodland, and it seems as if you do as well. You also seem to be a loner wandering into a packs' territory, so it's either you want something, or need to speak to the Sovereign," she finally ended her conclusion with a huff.

Samael's fur prickled in annoyance at how the pup Kinek treated him as if they were good friends; they were not. But once again, Samael ignored it. He was quite the patient male when it came down to young ones, for he couldn't help but see himself in them every now and then. And, much to his dismay, he saw quite a bit of himself within Kinek - the fearlessness, the curiosity. Even though it amused him, Samael was a bit disturbed. Thanks to his sharp non-handicapped orb, Samael found it easy to look past the dirt and see that she bore a very similar fur color as him. The older wolf was no believer of signs, like his parents were once, but even this was weirdly interesting. Shaking away his thoughts, Samael allowed himself to nod his cranium in understanding at Kinek's answer. "You are correct. I find comfort in this isolated graveyard. Many believe places such at this are crawling with horrible things, but I find that to be false." But he snorted softly at her assumptions. She was not wrong aboud being a loner, but she was wrong about the reason why he had came. "I will be frank; I was unaware of the presence of another pack in these parts. The ash doesn't exactly allow scents to easily break through," and that was true. The lingering smell of charred wood dirrupted his senses more than what he was comfortable with but Samael refused to show that. Curiosity peeked through at the mention of a so-call "Sovereign". "I am assuming the Sovereign is thr leader? Quite the arrogant title name, no?" It amused him that they could not settle for something traditional as "Alpha" or "Leader" as his parents' packs had. Or maybe he was being ignorant and that this fancy title was apart of their tradition. Either way, it made Samael think that they saw themselves as superior. "Perhaps I do want to visit them." He finally said, straightening himself. Normally he woulf want to avoid them but his curiosity was too much. Plus, this pup ould be the perfect excuse to see them.

KINEK
Kinek hummed an acknowledgment to his thoughts, "I love this scarred place merely because no one else really ventures out here," she admitted, licking her fleshy black lips as she glanced around aimlessly. "I usually call him by his name or Chief, but 'Sovereign' is apparently more traditional," she rolled her cinnamon painted orbs as she drew out the ending of the word traditional. "In all honesty, I don't understand why they refer to themselves so highly. They could've just kept it at Dominant, Guard, Healer, and so forth," she grumbled.
"You should dude!" she exclaimed, the more she spoke to the loner the more she wanted him to come back with her. Finally, she had met someone that understood her other than Soot. "C'mon! I'll bring you to them!" she bounded in the opposite direction they were walking, coming to a halt to be sure the loner was following.

The large white wolf blinked at the sudden energy that shot through Kinek. He was mainly taken aback since the pup was calm mere moments ago. Samael sighed, Pups have too much energy inside of them, he thought. In a way he missed those days but now that he was a grown wolf, he understood how older wolves must have felt when handling those his age a long time ago. With a wrinkle of his snout, Samael kicked up his pace to a steady trot. He was far more taller than Kinek, and he didn't have to try hard in order to keep up thanks to his long legs. "Very well. Lead the way." Samael allowed himself to be direcred just this one time.
